Lost or stolen cédula: duplicate procedure

A separate online procedure, 2026 general fee of 293,000 COP and how to track collection.

Last reviewed: October 29, 2026

Who can request it?

The official duplicate instructions are for people who already hold a cédula de extranjería, know their card number and meet the current validity conditions. A first-time applicant should not use this procedure.

Where to apply

Use Migración Colombia’s online duplicate workflow linked from its cédula service page. The official page has inconsistent general wording about document upload and payment channels across its duplicate sections; follow the live application instructions and confirm with Migración Colombia if they differ.

2026 fee and processing

The general duplicate fee is 293,000 COP for 2026. Ecuadorian nationals have a different published tariff. The official reference for production is ten business days from payment, with possible variation.

Collection check

The government has a dedicated service to check whether a cédula is ready for collection. Use it directly rather than giving your cédula number to an unrelated website.
